Klarna goes live on M&S.com and the M&S app with interest-free pay in three
UK shoppers at Marks & Spencer can now split online fashion, home and beauty purchases into three interest-free Klarna instalments.

What changed
Marks & Spencer has added Klarna as a payment option on its UK website and app, Retail Technology Innovation Hub reported on 15 October 2026. Shoppers buying fashion, home and beauty items online can now split the cost into three equal instalments with no interest. Klarna stresses that the product has a fixed end date and no revolving balance.
Klarna said the aim was to meet customers wherever they shop. M&S said the option gives shoppers more flexibility at checkout. The launch comes as UK retailers head into the Christmas trading period, when demand for spreading payments usually peaks. The article names no other Klarna products, such as longer financing, for M&S, and gives no commercial terms.
The deal matters beyond one retailer because M&S is one of the UK's best-known high-street brands and has long run its own card and financial services. Adding a third-party pay-later provider suggests that even retailers with their own credit products now see BNPL as something customers expect at online checkout. It also comes a few months after July 2026, when deferred-payment credit came under Financial Conduct Authority regulation. Those rules require affordability checks and clearer disclosures, which may make large retailers more comfortable adding BNPL.
For other UK online merchants, the launch adds pressure on rivals in fashion and homewares, where pay-in-three is fast becoming a standard checkout option. It also shows that BNPL acceptance is still growing among big retailers, even as fees and regulation draw closer attention.
What merchants must do
If you sell fashion or homewares in the UK and do not offer pay-in-three, get a quote from Klarna or an alternative before peak season Check with your BNPL provider that your checkout and marketing wording meets the FCA's BNPL rules in force since July 2026
