MoneyHash merchants can now reach Ozow's South African methods, including pay by bank and PayShap, through their existing orchestration integration.

What changed

Payment orchestration platform MoneyHash and South African payments company Ozow announced a partnership on 14 October 2026. Businesses that already use MoneyHash can now connect to Ozow through their existing integration, without building a separate technical link, and manage those flows alongside the rest of their payment providers. Ozow, founded in 2014, is one of South Africa's main local payment providers. Its range includes pay by bank, card payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay, PayShap requests, instant payouts, refunds and withdrawals, voucher payments, pay by crypto and buy now, pay later. It is licensed by the Payments Association of South Africa as a system operator and third-party payment provider. MoneyHash, which works across emerging and global markets, centralises routing, transaction management and reporting for merchants. Both companies framed the deal around demand for options beyond cards in South Africa. MoneyHash said it is part of a wider plan to add established local providers across Africa, while Ozow gains a new distribution channel into MoneyHash's merchant base. Neither firm named merchants or disclosed pricing. The partnership matters to online merchants because South African shoppers increasingly expect instant bank payments and local wallets at checkout, and supporting them has usually meant a separate local contract and integration. Access through an orchestration layer lowers that barrier for international sellers entering the market. It arrives in the same week that Nuvei said it had received approval from the Payments Association of South Africa to offer local merchant services, a sign that competition to serve merchants there is growing.

What merchants must do

If you use MoneyHash and sell into South Africa, ask about enabling Ozow pay by bank and PayShap alongside cards. Compare conversion and cost of instant bank payments against cards for South African orders once live. Confirm how refunds and payouts through Ozow will be reconciled in your existing MoneyHash reporting.
