Bhutan QR is a national QR code payment system that promotes low-cost interoperability between different banks for merchant payments, with funds transferred directly from bank accounts. Also referred to as DrukPay QR or BNBL QR, it was introduced by the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan to modernise domestic payments. Consumers scan a merchant QR code using their bank's mobile app to initiate an instant bank-to-bank transfer, requiring no physical card.
